I think those two factions are probably the most punishing factions to learn to play when you're new to the game, due to the riftborn requiring you to know that you need to build their pops yourself. Except for maybe the Riftborn and the Hissho. If you've never played 4X games before, then sure, your learning curve with one faction should be the same as any other. I wouldn't consider any of those the best starters due to how unique their play styles are. And while I do have my favorite factions like the Vodyani, Riftborn and Vaulters.
They're all just very unique, which I think is this game's greatest strength. There is no best faction in this game, just like there's no worst faction. As for team games, anything works.I wouldn't lock it to just one. Soviets are also strong since their late game is extremely potent, and 7 men cons in green cover are annoying to dislodge. US probably the better faction for aggressive play style since you can get an M20 around 4 mins into the game and combine it with a Stuart later on. OKW simply has super expensive teching (P4J arrives later compared to all other mediums, 16 or even 17 mins), Volks are also trash when it comes to late game and don't scale wellīad healing (going for heals = no light vehicle play, or going for Light vehicles = constant drain of ammo for heal crates)įor Allies, Soviet and USA are the stronger choices at the moment.
If you don't go for grens, you can kinda cheese and go ostruppen instead and trade more effectively vs allied mainlines can get 3 min elite infantry (Panzergrenadiers) can get a very early LV out (222 or even a flame HT if ahead) You get one of the best machine guns from the start. As ostheer, you get decent mainlines, (Grens are kinda meh, but become very good at vet 3 with lmgs). For axis, Ostheer is the stronger faction atm.
